Chart / Writers

Written by hand

Five writers, each with a corner of the paint shop they know best.

Lotte Brandsma

Lotte writes about the gap between a colour code and the colour you see: screens, print, fan decks and the NCS and hex numbers people mix up. She lives in Utrecht and keeps a well-thumbed fan deck beside the keyboard.

Dieter Kaufmann

Dieter has spent a lot of weekends around gates, trailers and garden furniture that needed stripping and coating. He covers powder coating, metal preparation and primers, and he is fussy about degreasing.

3 notes

Saoirse Malone

Saoirse restores old bicycles and the occasional small motorbike in a shed outside Cork. She writes the spray and restoration guides, from frame colours to rattle-can technique in a cold garage.

Bram Visser

Bram writes about colour on the outside of houses: front doors, window frames, garage doors, fences and railings. He has repainted more Rotterdam doorways for friends than he likes to admit.

2 notes

Petra Lindahl

Petra covers colour indoors and in the garden, and the practical side of matching a RAL number in paint you can actually buy. She lives near Gothenburg in a house with too many shades of grey.
