How RAL 2008 reads

Lively and warm, bright red orange has a light, slightly coral tone. It is softer than RAL 2004 pure orange and redder than RAL 2003 pastel orange, a friendly orange rather than a warning one.

Where it turns up

It suits accent doors, garden furniture, bikes, signs and playground metal. Use a white or light primer and test outdoors before committing, as bright oranges can fade in strong sun.

Ordering RAL 2008 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 2008" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
