How RAL 5008 reads
Grey blue is close to a blue tinted charcoal: a dark slate shade, bluer than RAL 7016 anthracite grey and greyer than RAL 5011 steel blue. It sits right on the line between blues and greys.
Where it turns up
It works on window frames, doors, gates and cladding. Satin or matt gives a modern look; a grey primer under it helps coverage.
Ordering RAL 5008 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 5008" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
