How RAL 5007 reads

Brilliant blue is not brilliant in the bright sense: it is a mid blue softened with grey, lighter than RAL 5009 azure blue. It has a calm, slightly faded look.

Where it turns up

It suits doors, furniture, garden sheds and bikes. Greyed blues change with the weather, so look at the sample on a sunny day and a cloudy one.

Ordering RAL 5007 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 5007" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
