How RAL 7000 reads

Squirrel grey is a mid grey with a cool blue cast, bluer and slightly darker than RAL 7001 silver grey. It has a soft, feathery quality and never looks harsh, even on large panels.

Where it turns up

It suits doors, window frames, machinery and garden metal. A grey primer of similar depth keeps the topcoat even, and a satin finish hides small dents on metal.

Ordering RAL 7000 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 7000" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
