How RAL 9007 reads
Grey aluminium is a mid metallic grey, darker than RAL 9006 white aluminium. On screen it looks like a plain mid grey, but the real finish has a metallic shimmer.
Where it turns up
It is used as a metallic finish on frames, doors, machinery and decorative metal. A flat screen swatch cannot show the metallic effect, so check a real sample.
Ordering RAL 9007 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 9007" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
