How RAL 7036 reads
Platinum grey is a mid grey with a faint violet pink warmth, and it is not metallic despite the name. It sits close to RAL 7004 signal grey in depth.
Where it turns up
It suits interiors, front doors, frames and furniture. Order a sample, since the name leads people to expect a metallic finish, and look at it beside cooler greys to see its warmth.
Ordering RAL 7036 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 7036" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
