Choosing a garage door colour that suits the house
Match the windows or contrast on purpose, test a big card outside, and check the door maker's RAL list before you commit to a garage door colour.

| Hex (sRGB) | #A5A8A6 |
|---|---|
| RGB | 165, 168, 166 |
| HSL | 140°, 2%, 65% |
| CMYK (naive) | 2, 0, 1, 34 |
| CIE Lab (from sRGB) | 68.6, -1.4, 0.7 |
| Relative luminance | 38.8% |
| Text contrast | white text 2.4:1, black text 8.8:1 |
Values are derived from the approximate hex above. CMYK is a simple conversion, not a print recipe: printers convert through their own profiles. Luminance is a screen figure, not a measured light reflectance value (LRV) from a paint data sheet.
White aluminium is a light metallic silver grey; the flat grey swatch here cannot show its metallic sparkle. It is lighter than RAL 9007 grey aluminium.
It is widely used as a metallic finish on frames, radiators, machinery and decorative metal. A flat screen swatch cannot show the metallic effect, so judge a sprayed or powder coated sample.
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 9006" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
