How RAL 9011 reads
Graphite black is a deep black with a faint grey warmth, slightly softer than RAL 9005 jet black and darker than RAL 9017 traffic black. In most light it simply reads as black.
Where it turns up
It suits furniture, window frames, railings and machinery. Satin finishes hide dust better than gloss, and textured powder finishes in dark shades are forgiving on rough castings.
Ordering RAL 9011 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 9011" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
