How RAL 1017 reads

Saffron yellow is a soft, warm apricot shade, lighter and less saturated than RAL 1007 daffodil yellow. The peachy edge makes it look friendly rather than urgent, closer to a sunny wall than to a warning sign.

Where it turns up

It suits accent walls, children's rooms, garden furniture and shop fronts. Gloss makes it look sweet and satin makes it calmer, so try a sample in the finish you plan to use.

Ordering RAL 1017 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 1017" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
