How RAL 2002 reads

Vermilion is a strong scarlet orange, redder than RAL 2001 red orange and right on the border with the reds. It has a warm, fiery quality but is lighter and more orange than RAL 3000 flame red.

Where it turns up

It works on doors, machinery, signs and decorative metal. Red oranges cover poorly over dark bases, so use a light grey primer and plan on at least two topcoats.

Ordering RAL 2002 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 2002" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
