How RAL 5010 reads

Gentian blue is a deep, strong blue with a clean royal quality, slightly darker than RAL 5005 signal blue. The name comes from the alpine flower, and the colour has the same saturated depth.

Where it turns up

It is used for signs, machinery, doors and bikes. Use a grey primer and a gloss or satin finish for the best colour depth.

Ordering RAL 5010 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 5010" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
