How RAL 7039 reads

Quartz grey is a mid dark warm grey with a brown cast, close to RAL 7006 beige grey but greyer and less sandy. It reads like weathered stone and suits older buildings well.

Where it turns up

It suits doors, window frames, garden buildings and cladding. Check it against brick and timber, as its warmth shows by contrast, and pick satin for a smart but soft look.

Ordering RAL 7039 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 7039" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
