How RAL 1006 reads
On the orange side of the yellow group, maize yellow is warm, fairly strong and a shade less orange than RAL 1007 daffodil yellow. It has the look of ripe corn: sunny and slightly deep, never pale.
Where it turns up
Shades like this turn up on construction and farm machinery, signs, play equipment and garden furniture. Paint a test card before the real job, because orange yellows often need three coats to cover a dark substrate evenly.
Ordering RAL 1006 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 1006" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
