How RAL 3007 reads
In low light black red passes for black. It is a very dark red brown, darker than RAL 3005 wine red, with a faint warm glow that only comes through in sunshine.
Where it turns up
It suits front doors, furniture, trim and metalwork where a softer alternative to black is wanted. Use a dark grey primer and check the sample in daylight, since the red only shows then.
Ordering RAL 3007 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 3007" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
