How RAL 8012 reads
Red brown is a dark brown with a clear red cast, redder than RAL 8015 chestnut brown and darker than RAL 8002 signal brown. It reads like old mahogany furniture.
Where it turns up
It suits doors, window frames, gates and garden buildings. Check the sample in daylight, since the red can be hard to see indoors.
Ordering RAL 8012 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 8012" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
