How RAL 4008 reads
Signal violet is a mid toned, fairly strong purple with a warm magenta cast. It is stronger than RAL 4001 red lilac and lighter than RAL 4006 traffic purple.
Where it turns up
It works on signage, bikes, furniture and play equipment. Use a light primer so the purple stays clean, and compare samples in daylight before ordering, because violets drift towards grey or pink under different bulbs.
Ordering RAL 4008 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 4008" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
