How RAL 4006 reads

Traffic purple is a strong, saturated magenta purple, darker than RAL 4003 heather violet and deeper than RAL 4010 telemagenta. It is one of the boldest colours in the group.

Where it turns up

It is used for signage, bikes, shopfronts and accent furniture. Saturated purples can fade outdoors, so choose an exterior grade topcoat and keep spare paint.

Ordering RAL 4006 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 4006" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
