How RAL 6003 reads

Muted and dark with a yellow grey cast, olive green is softer than RAL 6002 leaf green and greener than RAL 6006 grey olive. It reads earthy and practical, a green that never shouts.

Where it turns up

It suits garden buildings, fences, machinery and outdoor furniture. Matt or satin finishes keep its natural, low key look; gloss tends to make olive shades look harder and more synthetic than they are.

Ordering RAL 6003 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 6003" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
