How RAL 7044 reads

Silk grey is a light, warm grey with a beige cast, close to RAL 7032 pebble grey but slightly lighter and softer. It looks gentle, almost an off white with a little stone in it.

Where it turns up

It suits interiors, furniture, kitchen cabinets and machinery. Light greys look whiter on large areas than on a chip, so check a big sample before ordering.

Ordering RAL 7044 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 7044" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
