How RAL 1000 reads

A pale, sandy beige with a faint greenish undertone that shows most clearly beside warmer shades. It sits lighter and cooler than RAL 1001 beige and much softer than RAL 1002 sand yellow, so on a wall it reads more like dry limestone than like sand.

Where it turns up

Shades like this suit render, interior walls, cabinet fronts and machine housings where a quiet neutral is wanted. Look at a sample in daylight and again under warm bulbs, because the green cast comes and goes with the light.

Ordering RAL 1000 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 1000" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
