How RAL 1002 reads
Think of damp builder's sand: a warm, light yellow brown with more colour than RAL 1001 beige but none of the punch of RAL 1003 signal yellow. Its slightly earthy, muted quality keeps it calm on big surfaces.
Where it turns up
It suits render, garden walls, sheds, trailers and older vehicles where a warm neutral is wanted. Buy a sample pot first, because sandy shades look noticeably yellower across a whole wall than on a small printed chip.
Ordering RAL 1002 in paint or powder
Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 1002" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
