How RAL 8001 reads

Ochre brown is a warm, golden mid brown, richer than RAL 8000 green brown and lighter than RAL 8003 clay brown. It has the glow of polished pine or toffee.

Where it turns up

It suits doors, garden furniture, cladding and vintage machinery. Warm browns look richer in satin; on metal, a red oxide or mid grey primer sits well underneath.

Ordering RAL 8001 in paint or powder

Quote the number, not just the name: say "RAL Classic 8001" and add the gloss level, the product type (wall paint, metal paint, powder, aerosol) and the surface. The same number mixed by two makers, or in two gloss levels, can look slightly different, so keep a whole job in one batch and look at a sample in daylight first. The paint counter guide covers the questions to ask.
